Abstract:
An incubator is a device that keeps a premature new-born baby warm to the same temperature as the mother's womb. Premature babies have abnormal birth conditions, their bodies are smaller than normal babies because their gestationperiod has not yet passed. The purpose of this project on the design a low-cost compact system and a modern technology based for use in a new-born incubator. The care of premature babies in incubators has evolved significantly with advanced technology and monitoring systems. A modern premature baby incubator is equipped with many sensors and control systems. The incubator incorporates temperature and humidity sensors pulse and oxygen sensors dust sensors is ECG sensors and sound sensors to monitor the baby's vital signs and environmental conditions continuously. Healthcare providers and carers can access previous data and have real-time monitoring as a result of the integration of Firebase database into mobile applications that send and store data gathered from these sensors. To aid with additional analysis and documentation, the system also includes a data recorder that logs the information into Google Sheets. The incorporation of auxiliary system improves the incubator’s functionality, including a humidifier to maintain optimal humidity levels, Peltier modules for precise temperature control, and UV light for sterilization of the premature baby. Adequate system power supply is ensured with battery backup and solar panel integration. This setup ensures an uninterrupted operation and sustainability particularly in resource constrained environments. In order to maximize the health outcomes of premature babies in incubators, the combination of advanced sensor technologies, data management systems, auxiliary equipment, and sustainable power solutions represents a significant leap in neonatal care.
