বাংলাদেশ বিনিয়োগ উন্নয়ন বোর্ডের (বিআইডিএ) অনুষ্ঠানে বক্তব্য রাখতে গিয়ে সম্প্রতি মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেছেন, ‘গ্যাস-বিদ্যুৎ সাপ্লাই দেওয়া যাবে যদি সবাই ক্রয়মূল্য যা হবে সেটা দিতে রাজি থাকে।’মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রীর এ বক্তব্য খুবই যথার্থ। কারণ যাদের উদ্দেশে বা বিআইডিএ-সংশ্লিষ্ট যে শ্রেণির বিনিয়োগকারীদের উদ্দেশে তিনি এ বক্তব্য রাখছিলেন, তাদের প্রত্যেকেই বিত্তবান শ্রেণির মানুষ এবং তাদের মালিকানাধীন শিল্প-কারখানাগুলো বৃহৎ শিল্প বিধায় তাদের সবারই ভর্তুকিবিহীন যৌক্তিক মূল্য দিয়ে গ্যাস-বিদ্যুৎ কেনার সামর্থ্য রয়েছে।অতএব প্রধানমন্ত্রী তার এ আহ্বানের মধ্য দিয়ে বস্তুত বিত্তবান শ্রেণিকে জনগণের করের পয়সায় অহেতুক ভর্তুকি গ্রহণের চলমান সংস্কৃতি থেকে বেরিয়ে আসার প্রয়োজনের কথাই তুলে ধরলেন, যা বিদ্যমান শিল্পনীতিতে ঘোষিত অঙ্গীকারের সঙ্গেও সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ।

The event started with a river cruise from Sky Port Marina by ‘The Empire Cruise’ towards the Statue of Liberty with the Daffodil Alumni. The Alumni got the opportunity to recollect their memories, exchanged and shared views and joined in several fun and cultural events. The river cruise turned into a great gathering of Daffodillies' coming from different parts of North America.
