Forecasting Dse Broad Index
Rubi, Maksuda Akter; Hossain, Md Kamrul
Predicting share prices of stock market is a
common topic of research in all over the world because
of interest of the mass investors. However, it is a
challenging issue because price is affected by external
factors and has higher volatility. In this study, Artificial
Neural Network (ANN) is a latest tool which has used to
predict the Dhaka Stock Exchange Broad Index (DSEX)
for the duration from August, 2013 to December, 2018.
DSEX represents around 97% of the total equity
Market Capitalization. In this paper Three Layer Feed
Forward Neural Network using Back propagation
learning algorithm is used. The accuracy of the model is
examined by calculating Root Mean Square Error
(RMSE) values. The fitted ANN model showed better
prediction pattern with smaller error values.

Dynamics and Stability Analysis of Party Switching in Politics of Nigeria
Ayoade, A. A.; Farayola, Philip Iyiola; Lamidi, Taofeek Oyesola
Democratic consolidations in Nigeria have
been hampered by the incessant decamping of political
office holders and gladiators. In an attempt to provide a
theoretical basis to study the dynamics of party
switching in Nigeria, we formulate a new deterministic
compartmental model. We prove the positivity of
solutions of the model, conduct the stability analysis via
the principle of stability of nonlinear differential
equations and carry out simulations to verify the
theoretical results. Findings from the simulation show
that political office holders lose their places in the
hearts of the electorates when they fail to deliver
electoral promises which prompts party defection.

Green Merchandising- A Sustainable Approach for Apparel Business
Hossain, Kazi Rezwan; Majumder, Subrata; Parvez, Manik
Green is becoming more economically
contingent and exoteric in apparel retail business
nowadays. Eco-friendly policies have penetrated stages
of the fashion industry through apparel manufacturing,
material sourcing, and apparel supply chain. By
applying sustainable practices in the apparel business, a
company does not only make a profit but also benefit the
environment, create a positive image in the market and
uplift the society as well. The consumers are ready to
pay more for an eco-friendly product. However,
practicing sustainable apparel business is not being
popular all over the world. Merchandisers are called the
heart of the apparel business. Thus, if they are aware of
this fact, it will become more convenient for them to
practice sustainability. In this paper, a probable solution
being proposed is named green merchandising. This
paper is based on how this solution will create an impact
on the environmental, social and economic condition of
the apparel business. By applying green merchandising,
the unsustainable impact will be reduced and also this
solution will reduce the usage of natural resources like
water, gas, electricity and reduce the carbon emission as
well. Some aspects of unsustainable practice in apparel
business have been presented in the paper. Moreover,
probable solutions have been proposed and if these are
implemented in textile and apparel business then what
would be the benefits are mentioned in this paper.

Aroma Cum Antibacterial Finishing of Cotton With Inclusion Complex of Βcyclodextrin-Co-Chitosan and Oil of Lavender
Khanna, Shelly; Kaur, Amandeep
Host-guest complex of β-cyclodextrin-cochitosan and lavender was employed for the combined
aroma cum anti-bacterial finishing of cotton textiles.
The modified host viz. β-cyclodextrin-co-chitosan was
synthesized with the use of β-cyclodextrin citrate as the
intermediate for the achievement of the satisfactory
yield of the host. FTIR analysis was carried out for the
characterization of β-cyclodextrin-co-chitosan and also
the surface modification of the functionalized cotton
with the modified host. 1HNMR spectra of the inclusion
complex of β-cyclodextrin-co-chitosan and Lavender
had confirmed the formation of a strong complexation
between the two compounds. The functional as well as
physical properties as aroma retention, anti-bacterial
assessment, tensile strength, crease recovery, bending
length and air permeability were investigated both for
the host-guest complexed cotton and lavender alone
treated cotton. The aroma retention and a strong
inhibition zone was found more pronounced in the
functionalized cotton instead of the oil alone treated
cotton, which can be a promising and potential cadre of
application of multi faceted textiles.
