<title>Correlation between Optimum Moisture Content (OMC) and Plastic Limit (Pl) of Fine Grained Soil</title>

<description>Correlation between Optimum Moisture Content (OMC) and Plastic Limit (Pl) of Fine Grained Soil
Rahman, Md. Nahid; Islam, Md. Murshedul; Ullah, A.
Plastic limit (PL) and optimum moisture content (OMC) laboratory tests are essential for any earthwork construction since they play a significant role in any newly started construction site. But it takes an excessive amount of time to determine OMC. Many of the&#13;
index properties were found to be related to compaction parameters, optimum moisture content, and maximum dry density. The plasticity indices and the proportion of particles had the most significant connections, with the plastic limit having the highest degree of simple correlation. As a result, using the plastic limit of soil, it is necessary to determine these compaction properties. If compaction properties are correlated to plastic limit, it&#13;
may be easier to determine OMC. Finally, a simple equation has been generated to obtain the optimum moisture content (OMC) and the plastic limit (PL) of all the fine-grained soil. A useful equation and many graphical approaches have been used for quickly predicting compaction characteristics from index properties. The accuracy of these equations and graphical approaches has been assessed in this paper and determined to be adequate with most prediction results. This proposed correlation is going to be an easier method&#13;
for engineers in quickly assessing their suitability for compaction related purposes.

<title>Preliminary Assessment of African Star Apple Seeds (Chrysophyllum Albidum) as Potential Feedstock for Production of Bioethanol</title>

<description>Preliminary Assessment of African Star Apple Seeds (Chrysophyllum Albidum) as Potential Feedstock for Production of Bioethanol

Production of Bioethanol from renewable feedstocks has gained considerable scientific attention since they are able to supply energy and they serve as alternative fuels. This study presents a preliminary assessment of the production of Bioethanol from African&#13;
star apple seeds. The mildly pre-treated seeds were fermented for bioethanol production by wild microbes. These organisms responsible for the fermentation were then isolated and characterized using microbiological techniques. Proximate analysis was carried out on the fermented milled seed during the fermentation period. High percentage carbohydrate, fat, and protein were obtained. Bioethanol produced was comparable to&#13;
conventional ethanol physically and chemically. Specifically noticeable, flash point (12.5 ℃), refractive index (1.364), and relative density (0.762 g/cm3 ). The different wild microorganisms isolated during the fermentation period were Bacillus brevis, Bacillus cereus, Aspergillus niger, Penicillium verruculosum, Lactobacillus fermentum, Lactobacillus rossiae, Serratia marcescens, Absidia Spinosa, Rhizopus stolonifer, Pediococcus damnosus, Klebsiella planticola Rhizopus stolonifer and Fusarium culmorum. Although the mild pretreatment was ineffective for releasing fermentable&#13;
sugar needed for bioethanol production, these findings demonstrate that Chrysophyllum albidum seeds which are usually wild can be an excellent renewable feedstock of fermentable sugars for the production of biofuels such as Bioethanol with suitable pretreatment techniques.

<title>Solid Waste Management System</title>

<description>Solid Waste Management System
Pasha, A.B.M. Kamal; Basak, Gourango; Parveen, Mahfuza; Chowdhury, Azharul Haque; Mozumder, Sagar; Rahman, S. M. Mahmudur
Waste management is one of the most concerned topics nowadays. The present study aimed to understand the wastes which are generated mostly by the urban people of Savar, Dhaka. It has unveiled a very depressing scenario of Solid Waste Management in&#13;
savar. In Savar, wastes are generated from multifarious sources, stored and collected in an unplanned manner, carried in the same way. The most devastating situation is that these wastes are dumped in open places without considering health, hygiene, and environmental issues. Everywhere in the waste management system and the community, proper planning and care are mostly required to reshape the waste management system. The collection, dumping, and disposal capacity of the Pourashava should be increased. Moreover, city dwellers awareness should be built and developed to reduce waste generation at the sources. The authority should develop a recycling mechanism to ensure the reuse of a particular thing. Finally, a two-way communication, cooperation, contribution, and partnership of both the authority and community people can ensure very delicate and proper management of waste management of Savar.

<description>Combinatorial Properties on Subsemigroup of Order-decreasing Alternating Semigroup Using Three Distinct Combinatorial Functions
Bakare, G. N.; Ibrahim, G. R; Usamot, I. F; Ahmed, B. M; Oyebo, Y. T.
Analysing problems of combinatorial nature arise naturally in the study of transformation&#13;
semigroup. Combinatorial properties of many transformation semigroups and its subsemigroups have been studied with interesting and delightful results obtained. This paper investigated combinatorial properties on subsemigroup of order-decreasing alternating semigroups in which combinatorial functions and were used to derive some triangular arrays of numbers and some combinatorial results for each function were established. More so, the results on and were also obtained and generalized.
