My Mentor: An Android Application for Knowledge Sharing and Self-Learning

Abstract

My Mentor is an application (native) based on the android platform. In the present world information is widely available, thus learning a new skill is easier than ever. But unstructured information often distracts the learner with too much information, which causes the learner to be overwhelmed and sometimes they end up failing to achieve their goal. And that is where this platform comes, It focuses on making the journey of a self learner easy by providing the necessary guidance when needed. The knowledge sharing platform will help learners to find a mentor who would instruct the learner, show a path that has already been experienced, mistakes that have already been made, so the learner doesn't have to repeat them. The platform also provides all the tools to establish forms of communication that a modern learner and an educator will require. The application also comes with features to regulate the users, their activities and the whole platform. Platform also enables a mentor to sell their courses or charge for their experience sharing. Social media based approach to spread knowledge will also allow to create communities for different domains of knowledge, then the tools will allow them to interact with these communities in a safe, secure and organized manner.
