dc.description.abstract The projects aim to create a production pipeline for papercraft from 3D models. From children's toys to teen action figures, a booming industry has been growing worldwide. Most of the figurines available commercially are pretty expensive, especially collectible action figures. Moreover, majority of these products are made of plastic and other non-biodegradable materials, thus also not eco-friendly. The aim of the project was to create a more affordable, environment-friendly and interactive paper models that consumers can buy to make their own paper figurines. The entire project was created using CGI (computer-generated imagery) technology. The project involved steps to prepare a template for 3D paper models such as unwrapping and texturing for papercraft layouts. RizomUV was used to unwrap an available 3D model, followed by texturing using Substance Painter. Pepakura Designer 5 was then used to design a 2D design layout that can be printed, cut and folded to create a 3D paper model in real world. The outcome of the project can create mass-producible papercraft layouts that can be created by consumers through interactive instructions. In future, the project can be used for stop-motion and movie props as a better alternative for conventional materials. en_US
