My Experience as an English Teacher at Sudhir Kumar High School and College

Abstract

The purpose of this intern is to explore and experience the scenario of the present English teaching system in a Bangladeshi school. Having fluency in the English language is a very useful fact for us in Today’s world due to the fact all of us know that English is an international language. For completing my internship, I observed and took classes at Sudhir Kumar High School and College, as directed by my supervisor. I have prepared myself in lots of different ways depending on the elements that need to be acquired in teaching practicum such as lesson plan, teaching style, assessment, learning style, class observation and feedback. Besides observing classes, I also conducted classes; from this great experience I was capable of understanding the present situation of teaching English in the academic institution. In my opinion, our system of teaching English is not enough. Due to the lack of management system, English seems difficult to our country’s students. According to me, they need to have a proper guideline of studying English so that it may play an important role in their career. To conclude, this study has provided some recommendations based on the overall findings of the intern that can help in figuring out the strengths and weaknesses of the observed teachers and the institution. Also, it was a great experience for me to complete my internship step by step. After completing this entire intern, now I know the way to teach. The internship was very useful for me.
