Abstract:
The present blood donation process is inefficient and fragmented, which more often than not delays finding eligible donors for recipients, especially in emergency cases. The current process suffers from huge problems of communication between donors and recipients and maintenance of the 90-day time gap of donations, therefore impacting the overall efficiency of the system. The aim of this project is to create a web application that will connect blood seekers and blood donors to contact directly as end-to-end users. A single-page application design has been adopted. The design consists of all the donors registered in the application, real-time notification, searching of donors based on both blood group and area, map for the clarification of donor's given location required Google map integration, sending requests to the donor, accepting requests, and updating database based on the different actions performed by users. A blood donation web application has the potential to revolutionize blood donation by improving efficiency, reducing the time to look for a donor, and promoting blood donation while making donors follow the rules and ethics of donating blood. However, there are some challenges to consider such as potential technical issues and the need for the proper maintenance, and upkeep to optimal performance of the application. Overall, the web applications benefits outweigh the drawbacks, and further development and research are needed to improve the application and make it more accessible to a wider range of the country
