Abstract:
Information management in the public sector can improve transparency, reduce corruption, speed up service delivery, provide easy access to public services, reduce errors, and reduce poverty. As the landscape of governance experiences transformative shifts in the 21st century, propelled by technological advancements, this thesis delves into the pivotal role played by the Management of Information Systems (MIS) employing a 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR)-based approach in the pursuit of effective E-Governance in Bangladesh. In an era marked by unprecedented connectivity and innovation, the integration of cuttingedge technologies has emerged as a cornerstone in reshaping administrative processes and fostering citizen-centric governance. The study employs a comprehensive research design, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, to investigate the impact and potential of MIS with a 4IR-based approach in the context of Bangladesh. Extensive data collection, including surveys, interviews, and case studies, forms the basis for analysis, shedding light on the current state of E-Governance initiatives and the efficacy of 4IR technologies in addressing inherent challenges. Key findings underscore the critical role of MIS leveraging 4IR technologies in enhancing government service delivery, transparency, and efficiency. The majority of respondents express positive sentiments, affirming the potential of these systems to streamline bureaucratic processes, mitigate corruption, and foster a responsive and inclusive governance framework. Furthermore, the study explores the challenges faced in the adoption of such systems, providing insights into the barriers that must be navigated for successful integration. The thesis contributes valuable insights to the academic discourse on E-Governance and 4IR technologies, offering recommendations for policymakers, government officials, and technologists. By illuminating the symbiotic relationship between MIS and the 4IR paradigms, this research aims to inform strategic decision-making, laying the groundwork for a technologically advanced and citizen-centric governance model in Bangladesh.
