The annual herb coriander (Coriandrum sativum), commonly referred to as cilantro, belongs to the Apiaceae family. Although the entire plant is edible, the portions that are most frequently used in cooking are the dried seeds and fresh leaves. The purpose of this study was to examine Coriandrum sativum's phytochemical, thrombolytic, and antioxidant qualities. To find the existence of numerous bioactive chemicals, phytochemical screening was carried out utilizing a variety of chemical tests. The DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging assay was used to measure the antioxidant activity, and the thrombolytic activity was evaluated by calculating the percentage inhibition of clot lysis. Comparing the plant extract to the standard chemicals, the results showed that it has considerable thrombolytic and antioxidant properties. The discovered biological activities were associated with the presence of phytochemicals, suggesting that, it can be contain natural compounds that could be used therapeutically to treat thrombosis and disorders related to oxidative stress. Above all, Coriandrum sativum provided satisfactory thrombolytic and anti-oxidant properties |
