This study examines the association between dietary habits and allergic sensitization, uncovering strong links between food choices and allergy management. 40% of the surveyed participants reported allergies, primarily to dust mites, with many also facing respiratory conditions. A notable dietary trend included low vegetable intake coupled with high consumption of processed foods, soft drinks, and fruit juices, patterns that could worsen allergic symptoms and make symptom management more challenging. Many respondents relied on prescription medications and allergen avoidance strategies, but limited access to diverse, nutritious foods created obstacles to healthier eating. The findings underscore that specific dietary patterns play a direct role in allergy symptom control, emphasizing the need for accessible dietary education, affordable nutritious food options, and tailored guidelines that incorporate diet into allergy management strategies. This study advocates for collaborative efforts between healthcare providers and nutrition experts to develop holistic approaches that position diet as a key component of allergy care, offering the potential to enhance both allergy outcomes and overall well-being, especially in vulnerable populations. |
