The sleep patterns of students, particularly those residing in hostels, have a profound impact on
their academic performance, mental well-being, and physical health. This investigation delves
into the consequences of late-night sleeping habits on the holistic well-being of students at
Daffodil International University. Irregular sleep patterns disrupt circadian rhythms, leading to
cognitive impairment, fatigue, and increased stress levels. Chronic sleep deprivation is linked to
various health concerns, including obesity and weakened immune function. Factors such as noise
disturbances, physical comfort, social interactions, and psychological stressors affect sleep
quality in hostel environments. Recommendations for hostel management include noise reduction
measures, enhancements to sleeping facilities, promotion of healthy habits, and fostering
community support. Future research avenues encompass longitudinal studies, intervention
development, technology use, community engagement, policy development, cultural
considerations, and evaluation methods. Addressing these areas enables educators and
administrators to create environments prioritizing sleep health, thereby enhancing students'
academic success and overall well-being. |
