Abstract:
FOODU, a MERN stack web application created for the final year project at DIU, introduces a
transformative approach to food ordering within the university setting. By allowing users to
place advance orders, the system ensures that individuals can secure their meals before potential
shortages occur. Simultaneously, shop owners benefit from the ability to prepare food based on
incoming orders, thereby minimizing excess and reducing overall food wastage. One of the
notable features of FOODU is its commitment to real-time updates, ensuring that the menu
remains current and responsive. This dynamic approach not only enhances the user experience
but also contributes to the establishment of a highly organized and efficient food management
system. FOODU is not just a technological solution. It represents an innovative initiative to
create a sustainable and well-coordinated food ecosystem within the university. By addressing
immediate concerns related to food access and waste, the application aims to bring about positive
changes that extend beyond the digital realm, fostering a more thoughtful and environmentally
conscious approach to food management.
