dc.description.abstract Bangladesh, a country experiencing fast socioeconomic transformation, is dealing with a new concern, the intertwined shadows of drug addiction and suicidal tendencies. This study dives into this complicated intersection, attempting to understand the variables that link them and the disastrous consequences they cause. The purpose of this study is to look into the risk variables connected with suicide among those who are struggling with drug addiction and to develop effective prevention techniques. The study is motivated by the pressing need to understand the complex interplay of factors influencing the elevated suicide risk within this vulnerable population. The study uses a comprehensive literature analysis to systematically synthesize information on suicide risk factors, emphasizing the relevance of the problem and the severity of its impact. The literature evaluation reveals noteworthy conclusions, including the fact that people with drug addiction are significantly more likely to commit suicide. Mental health treatment during childhood, the loss of key persons at a young age, and severe psychological disorders all appear to play a role in this increased risk. The alarming rise in suicide rates among drug addicts needs a thorough study of the underlying risk factors and the development of effective preventative techniques. With over 700,000 people globally committing suicide each year and suicide being designated as the fourth highest cause of death among persons aged 15 to 29, immediate action is required. In addition, the correlation between drug addiction and suicide attempts underscores the critical need for evidence-based interventions to mitigate this pressing public health concern. The anticipated outcome of this research is to not only provide evidence-based knowledge but also serve as a foundation for policymakers, healthcare professionals, and community stakeholders to develop targeted initiatives aimed at addressing the nexus between drug addiction and suicidal tendencies in the context of Bangladesh. en_US
