dc.description.abstract Alstonia scholaris, commonly known as the "Saptaparni" or "Blackboard tree," is a medicinal plant widely distributed throughout tropical and subtropical regions. In this study, we conducted a comprehensive chemical and biological investigation of the methanolic extract derived from Alstonia scholaris. The phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of various bioactive compounds, including alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, and phenolic compounds etc. In the biological evaluation, the methanolic extract exhibited significant pharmacological activities, including antioxidant, analgesic & anti-diarrheal properties. The extract demonstrated notable antioxidant potential, as evidenced by its ability to scavenge free radicals and inhibit lipid peroxidation. The methanol extract's dosedependent suppression of abdominal constrictions suggests that the plant may have antinociceptive properties. Overall, our findings provide valuable insights into the chemical composition and pharmacological properties of the methanolic extract of Alstonia scholaris, supporting its traditional use in various medicinal practices and suggesting its potential for further pharmaceutical development. en_US
