Abstract:
This report offers an analytical examination of the loan disbursement and recovery performance of Dutch Bangla Bank PLC (DBBL) across a five-year period from 2019 to 2023. The objective of the investigation is to evaluate the efficacy of DBBL's credit management strategies and to pinpoint the obstacles encountered during loan recovery. The analysis indicates that DBBL has consistently increased loan disbursement, with substantial allocations to the manufacturing sector. The Dhaka division is the geographic location where the preponderance of loans are concentrated. Nevertheless, the bank's loan recovery ratio has shown a downward trajectory, declining from 88.88% in 2019 to 83.46% in 2023, despite the consistent increase in loan disbursement. The inefficiencies in the bank's loan recovery processes are underscored by this decline.
