CSR Reporting Practices of Mercantile Bank Limited

Abstract

A management idea known as "Corporate Social Responsibility" (CSR) promotes companies to integrate social and environmental concerns into their everyday operations and interactions with stakeholders. "CSR Reporting Practices of Mercantile Bank Limited- An Internship Reporton Mercantile Bank Limited," was developed to fulfill the internship program, which is also required to complete the MBA degree. Four chapters make up this report: Introduction, Bangladesh Bank CSR Activities Guideline, CSR Practices of MBL, Findings and Recommendations and Conclusion. The main objective of this study is to describe Bangladesh banks guideline for financial institution on CSR activities and to present the overall CSR Reporting practice of Mercantile Bank Limited (MBL). This descriptive study used secondary data. MBL is dedicated to conducting all financial activities in accordance with guideline. This study also contrasted the CSR policies of MBL and other banks in Bangladesh. The investigation revealed that MBL supported mostly health, education, disaster management, art & culture, sports and other sectors. MBL should increase its CSR efforts by supporting performing arts, visual arts, and culture like other banks. They should make more promotional efforts to improve their public image.
