dc.description.abstract Obesity and its associated metabolic disorders have become a major public health concern, necessitating the development of safe and effective therapeutic options. Natural compounds, such as ginseng and probiotics, are increasingly being explored for their potential to improve metabolic health and manage obesity. Objective This study aimed to evaluate the synergistic effects of methanolic ginseng extract and probiotics on weight management and lipid metabolism in a high-fat diet-induced obesity model. Additionally, the presence of ginsenosides in the ginseng extract was confirmed to ensure the authenticity and therapeutic potential of the bioactive compounds. Methodology The study employed high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to confirm the presence of ginsenosides in methanolic ginseng extract. Subsequently, an animal model study was conducted using high-fat diet-induced obesity in mice. The mice were divided into experimental groups receiving standalone and combination therapies of ginseng and probiotics, as well as a control and standard drug group. Weight changes, lipid profiles, and metabolic parameters were evaluated over the study period, and statistical analyses were conducted to determine treatment efficacy. Results and Discussion The combination therapy of ginseng and probiotics showed superior results in weight reduction, increased HDL levels, reduced triglycerides, and stabilized LDL and total cholesterol levels compared to standalone treatments and the standard pharmacological intervention (Orlistat). The use of HPLC ensured the presence of therapeutic ginsenosides in the ginseng extract, strengthening the validity of the results. The findings suggest a synergistic effect between ginseng and probiotics in improving metabolic health, highlighting their potential for natural obesity management. Conclusion The study demonstrates that the combination of ginseng and probiotics is a promising natural therapeutic approach for managing obesity and related metabolic disorders. Future studies should focus on optimizing dosage, exploring long-term effects, and validating these findings in clinical trials to establish the efficacy and safety of this combination therapy for widespread use. en_US
