Abstract:
This research works presents a comprehensive study on the design and implementation of a hybrid energy system integrating solar photovoltaic (PV) and biomass technologies for sustainable energy generation at a university campus in Bangladesh. The project aims to solve the country’s energy crisis and encourage the adoption of renewable energy by harnessing the untapped potential of biomass and solar energy. The research methodology includes a multidisciplinary approach, with load distribution analysis, waste measurement analysis and field visits to The Skate Ltd., a major landfill site in Jhumjhumpur, Jashore. Practical insights from this implementation enable the design and optimization of hybrid energy systems to ensure consistency by adopting appropriate methods for biomass processing in key components of the study, e.g. For economic and technical considerations including aerobic digestion and solar radiation data to be evaluated to optimize solar PV systems, including capital and operating costs, system quality and environmental assessments, the uniqueness of the project highlights biomass energy, an underutilized resource in Bangladesh. By implementing a hybrid energy system on the university campus, the project not only aims to meet the energy needs of the department but also provides valuable learning opportunities for students in renewable energy technology.
