dc.description.abstract Bangladesh is developing, and power demands are increasing. We can't picture a world without power today. Every day appliances are energized by electricity. Around 50 percent of people had access to electricity a few years ago, but now it is available to nearly 98 percent of the population. Our per capita energy consumption was around 220 kWh ten years ago, and it is now at 512 kWh. It demonstrates the rising need for electricity. With 149 generating units, we now have a capacity of 23,000 MW. The distribution units, however, are the power system's essential backbone. This is where electricity is sold and where the money is made. We have six distribution firms who are working hard to service the country. en_US
