dc.description.abstract This thesis critically examines the portrayal of Islam in the film The Kerala Story. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze how the film perpetuates negative attributes and biases against the religion and its followers. The study explores the stereotypical representation of the Muslim community. Taking inspiration from Edward Said’s Orientalism and Covering Islam, the study finds out how Muslims are depicted as extremists, terrorists, violent, radicalized. It highlights the facts of misinterpretation of Islamic Rituals. Focusing on the dehumanized portrayal of the Muslim community, the paper focuses on how the film endorses Islamophobia. en_US
