This internship report explains the experience that I had teaching English in a school with the Bengali medium. Its primary aim is to report on what I saw and the approaches to teaching and methods of instructions that are prevalent in the Bangladeshi schools. The report elaborates on the teaching of English as a second language, in the backdrop of Bangladesh with references made to the second language acquisition and class room use. I served my internship in Allardarga Secondary School. In this report, I explain how I prepared lessons, classroom management skills, student learning, my professional interaction, evaluation of student progress through various methods of assessment, feedback, and observation. It also entails my three months teaching experience as an intern. Judging by what I saw and what I had put to practice, I am able to propose a few alterations or additions that would improve the teaching of English in the school level by providing an improved teaching methodology and student centered lessons. Finally, the report brings in the strengths and weaknesses of English teaching in this MPO registered school. It also gives results and suggestions that I feel would be beneficial to both ardent teachers and the school itself. |
