Experience as an English Teacher: A report of an internship at "Shishu Kallyan primary School.77"

Abstract

This internship gave me the opportunity to experience real classroom teaching at Shishu Kallyan Primary School, Keshabpur, Jashore. Before joining the school, I believed teaching was only about explaining lessons. However, working closely with young learners helped me understand that teaching is a responsibility that requires patience, creativity, and a caring attitude. The main purpose of my internship was to gain practical teaching experience for a few months. During this time, I taught different classes, observed senior teachers, prepared lesson plans, and learned how to manage a classroom effectively. I used simple teaching techniques such as storytelling, group activities, and question-based learning to keep the students active and engaged. I also learned how teachers prepare materials, assess students’ work, and support learners who need extra help.
