Abstract:
Inventory management is a critical component of any retail or product-based business, directly impacting profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. This project introduces a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) based Inventory Management System that combines core inventory and sales tracking functionalities with an integrated Point of Sale (POS) system and SMS marketing capabilities, designed to serve small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) that require a scalable, easy-to-use, and cost-effective solution to manage their day-to- day operations from a centralized online platform. The software allows business owners to maintain product inventory records and manage them thoroughly. Sales transactions which includes realtime monitoring of stock levels and low-stock warnings are all features of the vendor billing and customer service module, which also allows for the swift charging of clients as well as the capturing of sales history. A module of the software capable of SMS marketing is unique for its ability to communicate with clients through automated systems that send personalized promotional or order update messages. This also aids in customer retention which increases repeat sales. The system is software as a service, with the system being fully cloud hosted and having no local installation requirements. Each tier provides a unique pricing plan without being too expensive to stay within budget, which helps fulfill various corporate needs. Modular and scalable systems allow for future updates, while the multi-user access permission and role based access guarantees effective and safe use of the software. The system demonstrates dependable performance and usability based on the actual performance and effectiveness measures, and fully tested data, to provide a comprehensive system. This also improves sales through faster inventory control and SMS communications.
