This internship report presents a summary of my teaching experience at Changaon Government Primary School, where I applied both SLT and CLT methods in real classroom settings. The goal of this report is to document how theoretical approaches can be effectively implemented at the primary level to enhance students’ English language learning. During the internship, I conducted lessons from English for Today, Class 5, covering 5 different topics. Through SLT, I focused on grammar rules, sentence structure, pronunciation patterns, and repetition drills. On the other side, I used CLT in lessons like Where’s the Library? And Dialogue Practice to promote pair work, student interaction, and real-life communication. The story The Hare and the Tortoise was used for both reading comprehension and student discussion, which reflects the essence of CLT. This report also includes reflections on classroom observations, teaching challenges, student engagement, and lesson effectiveness. It highlights how the combination of SLT and CLT can create a balanced classroom environment where students build both grammatical accuracy and communicative competence. The report ends with personal insights, recommendations, and supporting documents such as lesson plans and teaching materials. |
