Abstract:
Bangladesh Labour Act of 2006 has great importance. We are aware of how significantly the industrial sector affects a nation's overall economy. So, the rights to safety of the labour must be ensured. All prosperity in industrial sector is the product of labours. Various international conventions uphold the spirit of this line. International Labour Organization sets the standard of rights regarding safety for the labours. Bangladesh has ratified some of the conventions regarding safety standard of ILO. Bangladesh has implemented some of those standards in the Bangladesh Labour Act. But many important measures have not been implemented in the Bangladesh Labour Act. Those necessary measures must be implemented. The protection of workers’ rights and safetyis of utmost importance to the industrial sector and, consequently, to the country's economy as a whole. This is why the Bangladesh Labour Act of 2006 is so important. Because all wealth in theindustrial sector is a direct result of laborers‟ hard work and dedication, it is imperative to ensure their safety and well-being. This idea is supported by a number of international accords that highlight the importance of strong labour laws and safety regulations. A number of the labour safety conventions established by the International Labour Organization (ILO) have been ratifiedby Bangladesh. Bangladesh’s dedication to upholding international standards for worker safety is demonstrated by this ratification. Some of these requirements are incorporated into the Bangladesh Labour Act, demonstrating an attempt to harmonies domestic legislation with global standards.
