dc.description Project Report en_US
dc.description.abstract In this report, a design, development, and integration of a two-drone Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) system is given, composed of Kak and Kokil drones. Kak is a long-range reconnaissance and surveillance hybrid propulsion UAV, and Kokil is a smaller, tactical quadcopter, that specializes in operations at short ranges. The main aim of this project is to overcome the problem of designing UAVs that can be versatile to the military and civilian life because of balancing between long endurance and agilities. The Kak UAV employs a hybrid propulsion system to enable the switching of the jet engine to an electric one or vice versa to best suit high speed missions or stealth maneuvers. Kokil, an agent of Kak, is prepared to do quick reconnaissance of restricted or sensitive places. The engineering issues that had to be overcome included integration of payload, flight stability and power management. The dual UAV system incorporates both of these platforms to produce a versatile and affordable system to use in a wide range of mission profiles. Another technical aspect covered in this paper is the technical characteristics of the Kak and Kokil UAVs, their operational deployment and possible use in military and humanitarian missions. en_US
