dc.description.abstract The monograph "Role of Election Commission in Ensuring Free and Fair Elections: A Legal Analysis on Bangladesh Perspective" criticizes how Bangladesh's Election Commission works under the current legal system. It examines the gaps in the existing legal framework of the Constitution and the Representation of the People Order (RPO) of 1972 and discusses issues like the financial budget, political influence, and a lack of independence. These issues reduce the credibility of the Bangladesh Election Commission to hold fair elections. The study suggests solving these challenges by creating a fair, multi-stakeholder process for appointing EC members, updating the RPO, and amending the constitution article to toughen the EC’s power. It also criticizes the need for financial transparency, quicker solutions to election-related conflict, and the EC’s total control over executive officers during election time. These can make the EC more independent, powerful, and reliable, ultimately gaining public support and improving the democratic system in Bangladesh. In short, the paper calls for the current EC to be strengthened and to hold an impartial election. en_US
