In Daffodil international university (DIU) students are expected to undergo an internship at the end of BBA program, so as to gain some practical experience in the real business world. This internship is a bridge between whatever one may have learned in theory and what he or she has in real life. This report presents a report on my internship experience at Janata Bank PLC (JBPLC), that is one of the largest commercial banks owned by the state in Bangladesh. The commercial banks form a fundamental part of the economic growth of the nation and with the Janata Bank, the country stands to gain a lot since it gives many banking services, a contributor in social and development programs, and supports government programs. Janata bank PLC is highly involved in foreign exchange activities whereby it maintains huge volumes of export, import and remittance transactions. In that case, one should be aware of its General Banking and Foreign Exchange business. This internship report is intended to provide a clear overview of foreign exchange performance of Janata Bank PLC, review its operations and also the analysis of the areas which can be enhanced. It is based on primary and secondary data, and the report states the role played by the bank to the foreign exchange earnings due to export, import and remittance services. The report has been presented as in the following sections: Introduction, Organizational Profile, Foreign Exchange Operations, Import, Export and Remittance Activities, Findings and Analysis, Recommendations and Conclusion. |
