The report is informed by a three-month internship experience with MERNet (Monitoring Evaluation and Research Network) which is an arm of DataScape Research and Consultancy Ltd., between 1 July and 30 September 2025. MERNet is a scholarly and publishing-focused platform, which offers academic and consulting services to researchers on publication of journals, data analysis, and development of research. I was a Business Development Intern in the internship at MERNet in the supervision of Mr. Iftekar Islam Tuhin, Project Coordinator of MERNet and Junior Executive of Datascape Research and Consultancy Ltd. I was to make calls with clients, inform them about the services they offer, recruit tele sales trainees, and organize group-based research projects. The report talks about the general organization and operations of MERNet, its service, and how the effective communication strategies and training of employees helps in the satisfaction of clients, the growth of an organization and the growth of business. It also examines my own learning experience, the issues, and the relation between the academic knowledge and the work. Besides, the report identifies internal strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of MERNet using SWOT analysis and gives viable recommendations to enhance them. On a final note, the internship experience of the MERNet has enhanced my communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and training coordination capacities, which offers rich information on the connection between human resource development and business development in the consultancy and research field. |
