Financial Performance Analysis of Whirlpool Bangladesh Limited

Abstract

This report is based on my internship experience at Whirlpool Bangladesh Limited and focuses on evaluating the company’s financial performance. During my internship, I had the opportunity to review the company’s financial data and observe its operations in a competitive market environment. The main objective of this study was to assess the financial condition of Whirlpool Bangladesh using common financial tools such as ratio analysis and trend analysis. I worked with the company’s financial statements and gathered additional information through discussions with staff and secondary sources. From the analysis, I found that Whirlpool Bangladesh has maintained a fair position in terms of sales growth and liquidity. However, the company continues to face challenges in cost management, expense control, and efficient resource utilization, which have impacted overall profitability. I also observed market-related challenges, including rising operational costs, fluctuations in foreign exchange rates, and intense competition in the home appliance industry. Despite these difficulties, Whirlpool Bangladesh continues to grow, supported by its strong brand, customer service, and well- established distribution channels. Overall, preparing this report has provided me with practical experience in financial analysis within a real corporate setting. It allowed me to connect my academic knowledge with real-world practices and enhanced my understanding of finance, communication, and decision-making.
