The study titled "An analysis of corporate social responsibility of Janata bank PLC" is based
on my BBA internship. It includes the details of the procedures followed by Janata bank PLC.
Janata Bank PLC (JBPLC) is the second largest state-owned bank in Bangladesh based on net
worth. It has 922 branches and is fully owned by the Government of Bangladesh. The bank’s
mission is to help the country’s socio-economic growth while running as a stable commercial
bank. After the independence of Bangladesh in 1971, United Bank Limited and Union Bank
Limited were nationalized and renamed as Janata Bank.
This report gives a general idea about the corporate social responsibility of Janata Bank PLC.
The report has five main parts. The first part is the introduction, which includes the origin of the
report, background of the study, objectives, methods, and limitations. The second part is the
literature review. The third part gives an overview of Janata Bank PLC, covering its history,
mission, vision, values, objectives, structure, activities, products, and performance. Information
for this report was collected from both primary and secondary sources, though most came from
secondary sources. The fourth part discusses what I learned, including the bank’s products and
services, the general loan approval process, and the different loan products offered by Janata
Bank PLC. The fifth part explains how the bank approves loans, along with its loan disbursement
and recovery system. In this section, I also point out the strengths and weaknesses of the bank’s
loans and advances and give some recommendations based on the issues found." |
