This internship report is prepared as a partial requirement for the completion of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Daffodil International University. The report is based on a four- month internship at SK International, a reputed construction and material supply firm located in Kaliakair, Gazipur. The title of the report is “An Evaluation on Business Development Operations at SK International” The primary aim of this study is to analyze the human resource practices and business development processes observed during the internship period. Although the internship was for four months, the author has been associated with the organization for over a year, which provided deeper insight into its operations and workforce dynamics. The report highlights several key HRM areas such as recruitment, labor handling, tender and bill documentation, banking coordination, material procurement, stakeholder negotiation, and logistical support. It also emphasizes the practical challenges faced by HR departments in a partnership-based, decentralized construction business environment. Data were collected through practical observation, informal interviews, and active participation in day- to-day operations. The study outlines real-world applications of HR theories and compares them with traditional practices in the Bangladeshi construction sector. In addition to HR-related tasks, the internship also involved direct involvement in project-related discussions and political coordination, which enriched the intern's understanding of organizational strategy and leadership in a high-pressure field. The report concludes with key findings and practical recommendations to improve HR structure, communication, accountability, and policy development within SK International. This internship experience has not only enhanced the intern's academic knowledge but also equipped him with practical skills for future professional endeavors in the HR and construction sectors. |
