The study's goals include an analysis of Microfinance and its impact on Rural Development: A
Perspective of Grameen Bank. This report has been prepared based on my 3 months of practical
experience at Grameen Bank, Mirpur-2, Dhaka. This Internship program allows me to gain a
better understanding of a Grameen Banks operational Environment. The microfinance system
has been seen as an effective tool for improving the poor economic conditions through a group
approach that ensures greater participations of many stakeholders. Grameen Bank's approach is
based on lending to groups of individuals, primarily women, who then use the loans to start
small businesses, improve household conditions, and invest in education or health. This model
promotes social empowerment, particularly for women, and encourages collective
responsibility.
It has contributed to poverty reduction, enhanced social and economic stability, and increased
access to education and healthcare. The microloan model fosters entrepreneurship, job creation,
and local economic growth, thereby improving the living standards in rural communities. |
