Abstract:
This internship report focuses on the performance appraisal and management activities at
Mercantile Bank PLC, Gareeb-E-Newaz Avenue Branch. The objective is to understand how
performance evaluations are conducted, identify gaps, and suggest improvements.
Through primary observations and interactions with the HR department during my three-month
internship, I found that the bank employs a semi-annual appraisal system that influences
promotions, bonuses, and training needs. However, it also faces limitations like bias and lack
of modern evaluation tools. The report concludes with recommendations such as implementing
360-degree feedback and digital appraisal platforms.
