Abstract:
This internship report focuses on analyzing the recruitment and selection process of Bank Asia
PLC, which is a leading private commercial bank in Bangladesh. The main purpose of this
report is to understand how the bank attracts and selects qualified candidates to build an
effective workforce. Recruitment and selection are the most important HR function that directly
affect the bank’s performance and growth.
The report explains the recruitment methods used by Bank Asia, including internal propositions
and external hiring through job portals, newspapers, employee referrals, and campus
recruitment. It also describes the detailed selection steps, such as application screening, written
tests, interviews, and background verifications.
During the internship, several challenges were identified, including high competition for skilled
candidate, a time-consuming recruitment process, limited use of technologies, bias risks, and
difficulties in verifying candidates’ backgrounds. Recommendations are made to improve these
areas by adopting better technology, streamlining procedures, and promoting fairness in hiring.
Overall, the report provides valuable insights into Bank Asia’s HR practices, highlighting both
strengths and areas for improvement. This practical experience helped connect academic
knowledge with real-world business operations, preparing the intern for future career
opportunities in human resource management.
