dc.description.abstract The study explores the prospects of Chandpur as a tourism destination, highlighting its unique location at the confluence of the Padma, Meghna, and Dakatia rivers. Known for its iconic Hilsa fish and rich cultural heritage, Chandpur has significant potential for tourism growth, but challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, limited marketing efforts, and environmental concerns hinder its development. The Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) has taken several initiatives to enhance tourism in Chandpur, focusing on branding, infrastructure improvement, sustainable tourism practices, and community engagement. Efforts to develop Chandpur as a tourism destination include branding strategies that position itas the “Ilish Capital of Bangladesh” and leveraging digital marketing, influencer collaborations, and participation in international tourism fairs. Infrastructure improvements, such as enhancing transportation networks, developing accommodations, and introducing modern ferry services, aim to improve accessibility and visitor experiences. The promotion of cultural and heritage tourism is also a priority, with restoration projects for historical sites, traditional boat races, and the organization of cultural festivals. en_US
