This report focuses on the Financial Performance Evaluation of Export Import Bank
Bangladesh (Exim Bank) by analyzing its operational efficiency and measuring
profitability over the past five years. EXIM bank established in 1999. The bank has
made significant steps in the banking sector of Bangladesh by offering a wide range
of services such as retail, corporate, and trade financing, along with Islamic banking
solutions.
This report is structured in FIVE main sections: an introduction, an overview of
EXIM Bank, a detailed performance analysis based on financial ratios and finally,
the findings and recommendations for improving the bank’s financial performance.
The primary objective of this study is to assess EXIM Bank's financial health by
analyzing key performance indicators like net profit margin, operating profit margin,
return on equity, asset utilization and other financial ratios. By evaluating these
metrics over the period from 2019 to 2023, this report highlights the bank’s
performance trends, growth patterns, and identifies areas where improvements can
be made.
At last, the report provides key findings from the ratio of last five years. Based on
the findings, the report provides some recommendations for improving EXIM
Bank’s cost efficiency, profitability, and financial stability. These include optimizing
asset utilization, managing debt levels more effectively, and diversifying income
streams to reduce dependency on interest-based revenue. |
