This report is a comprehensive study on the training and development practices of
United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB), prepared as part of a three-month internship
program required by Daffodil International University. It provides an in-depth
analysis of the bank's approach to equipping its workforce with the necessary skills
and knowledge to thrive in a competitive banking environment.
The report is divided into five key sections. The introductory section outlines the
background, objectives, scope, methodology, and limitations of the study. It sets the
stage for understanding the significance of training and development in modern
banking practices. The second section offers an organizational overview, including
UCB's history, vision, mission, and objectives, along with its management
structure.
The third section focuses on the strategies, tools, and initiatives UCB employs to
train and develop its employees. This includes programs aimed at fostering both
personal and professional growth. Data gathered from employee interviews,
questionnaires, and UCB’s annual reports suggest that the majority of employees
are satisfied with the bank’s training programs, workplace environment, and overall
benefits.
The final sections of the report present the findings, analysis, and recommendations
based on the study. Suggestions for enhancing the effectiveness of UCB’s training
and development programs are also included, ensuring continuous growth and
improvement.
This report draws from a variety of sources, including books, research papers,
online articles, and organizational reports, to present a detailed and accurate
depiction of UCB’s training and development practices. It concludes that the bank's
commitment to employee growth plays a significant role in its overall success and
