dc.description.abstract As an international language, English is the best medium of communication around the world. As a developing country, English is also a means of communication of Bangladesh. For this reason, English language learning is must for all Bengali students to compete with the present world. The situation of learning English is slightly better because of the students studying in private English medium institutions. I have completed a project paper on the present scenario of English in Bangladesh. Through this assignment, I got a chance to understand the present situation of English language teaching at Bangla medium schools by visiting a school, observing classes. I also had chance to explore my skill in proficient working environment. I must say that in Bangla medium schools, the teaching system of English language learning is not much satisfactory. They don’t give more attention on spoken English, listening rather the attention is more on composition part even students are learning English by memorizing. So, they don’t enjoy their lesson and they loss their interest to learn English. en_US
