Abstract:
This project paper has been made to show the present scenario of English language teaching
in Bangladesh in a school based on an observation of two classes and I have also conducted
one class to apply the English Language teaching methods I have learned as part of my
curriculum. By using a checklist, I completed this observation. The study serves two main
purposes, one is to find out how the teachers are conducting their English language classes at
the secondary level in Bangladesh, and are the students achieving the intended learning
outcomes. The study also identifies the loopholes in the classroom teaching practices in
Bangladesh and also suggests possible solutions.
Description:
Though English is a foreign language, English is very important language in Bangladesh. For
our official, professional, educational and other purposes we use English language. Actually,
we learn this language in our classroom. So for my internship report I visited Holy Life
School and College for class observation and teaching experience. I observed two classes and
conducted one class. The duration of the class was 45 minutes. The teachers followed the
grammar translation method and they blended it with CLT. The teachers were very much
helpful towards the students and then I took a class and I finished my observation and
prepared the project paper.
