dc.description In this modern and technologically advanced world, English has become one of the prime languages in each sector including education. Due to the epidemic of Covid-19, English Language Learning online has become a must because the whole world has shifted towards online mode. Bangladesh and its educational sector did not fall behind when it came to switch to online mode. English Language Learning has always been a topmost priority in Bangladesh and it is still being the same during the pandemic. Being a student of English department at Daffodil International University, I had the opportunity to experience online education and specifically the course Project Paper (ENG-334) gave me the golden chance to understand and evaluate the online English language learning and teaching process of my own an institution at the tertiary level. The purpose of this project paper titled “Report on Online class Observation and Conduction in English during the Outbreak of COVID-19” is to observe the current teaching-learning situation of our university. We did our classes on Google Meet. We discussed our problems in an online group. It was a bit challenging task. We got permission from the concerned authority to conduct our project work online. My supervisor helped me to go through the process of the internship. In a normal situation, the entire internship used to be done in other schools and colleges offline but this time our university hosted the internship online, blessing us with a golden fortune of an advanced experience. My supervisor Mrs. Fatema Begum Laboni instructed me to observe two classes and conduct one online on google meet. My supervisor gives me a good vibe to take my class without any hesitations. She inspired me. she gives me some choice to take any class that I feel comfortable with and I can do my best. After that, I conduct one class on ‘presentation skill’’. Mrs. Nahida Akter Poly gives me a chance to conduct a class of her for the internship. she introduces me to her students. After the class, she inquired also about my experience with her students. I’m so happy to get them as my teacher. They always tell me that “conduct your class by using out of the box knowledge to cope up any kind of classroom situation, use humor, and do more and more research. Don’t depend on a textbook only, give your student some interesting point so that they feel attracted to know what the teacher wants to teach and they get inspired to learn more, which can be done by using a photo, video, a real-life experience which related to the topic. After carefully observing and conducting classes, I found out several limitations and advantages of online teaching. Personally, I ‘m interested in continuing a profession as a Radio jockey but as part of this internship, I had to do it. But I thought that many things are similar in both of these professions, it will help me out, cause teaching and radio jockey both professions need extra-curricular activities and public speaking skill, etc., which would be the guidelines in the long run if I intend to pursue the career of my Radio jockey profession. I had to take the internship project for my academic purpose. My supervisor helped me to go through the process of the internship. Two of my peers had done their internship online like me. My peers observed my class and I also observed their classes. In this way I experienced how to be conducted university classes by using Google Meet. To maintain public speaking on online class, particularly university students and it created a great opportunity for me to conduct a class at a higher education level. So, this internship project appreciated a lot and help to gain knowledge. It was a new experience of mine, I enjoyed it a lot. en_US
dc.description.abstract This paper determines to depict the present scenario of Online Class Observation and Conduction in English at Daffodil International University during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research has been designed based on the online internship to complete the requirements of a course titled “Project Paper (ENG-334)” offered by the Department of English, Daffodil International University. In my university, I always attend many seminars like STS (student teaching students), ELT, etc., and I learn by these seminars from my seniors and teachers, how to take a class and from the course of my department's presentation skill’. I complete this intern from the experience of conducting the classes of mine. Those seminars teach me to be connected with students and entertain them, using homer and attract them to learn the topic interestingly. In my conducting class, I know that students are not comfortable when the facilitators speak in English. Though the student was from the department of English. So, I took my conduct class in Bangla so that they can accept me easily and they can learn their topic. There are many methods of teaching English. The intern applied various methods and followed several steps such as class observation, filling up the checklist provided by the supervisor during the observation, class conduction, and evaluation online to reach out the objectives. After scrutinizing all the strengths and weaknesses of my intern I’ve given some suggestions and I’ve adopted some suggestions myself some techniques myself which can also help other teachers. en_US
