Abstract:
Bangladesh is a developing and agricultural country. The shortage of electricity in Bangladesh is increasing day by day. Irrigation is a problem due to rising electricity prices and rising diesel prices. To solve this problem, the land has been irrigated with the help of solar energy. Using solar energy we can irrigate the land through solar irrigation pumps .Irrigation has already started in Bangladesh using solar pumps. This thesis paper highlights the design of 5kW hybrid solar irrigation system and its financial condition. This system uses a hybrid inverter, which converts DC current from PV panel to AC current. The design is simplified through a hybrid system and is a long-term project. This system increases the operating time, so that the land can be watered properly. The system has been added to the national grid to make the system profitable and for the benefit of the farmers. Adding to the national grid the energy that was wasted by the panel in the off-season will go to the grid, allowing farmers to earn from the grid. Irrigation period of 4 months. Assume, grid electricity cost 7.70 BDT/kWh. The system produces about 8.162MWh of energy per year and adds about 5.192MWh of electricity to the grid except during the irrigation season. Economic analysis shows that the system is profitable and the return on investment is 192%.
