Financial Performance Analysis of Benham Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

Abstract

This internship report has been prepared to fulfill the requirement of the BBA program. As a partial requirement for the completion of the BBA program, it is mandatory to get involved with an organization to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge. This report is intended to help the reader in a detailed understanding of the general activities and practices performed by Benham Pharmaceuticals Limited. The purpose of this report is to have an idea about the financial performance of Benham Pharmaceuticals Limited and to assess its effectiveness. The first chapter is the introduction part in which I have given the background of the study which will give an overview of the report. It also contains objectives, scope, limitations, and methodology which contains the sources of data collection. For data collection, I used both primary and secondary data. Chapter two is an industry overview that contains a brief discussion on pharmaceutical companies in Bangladesh, a list of a few pharmaceutical companies in Bangladesh and the industry outlook that will help the reader to understand the situation of the pharmaceutical sector in Bangladesh. The third chapter includes the company background in which I have worked during my internship period, corporate information, the organizational structure of Benham Pharmaceuticals, the products and services of the company and a brief on Benham’s major department. The fourth chapter is the analysis part, in which I gave an overview of ratio analysis that contains types of ratios, and the purpose of ratios. Then I have done the ratio analysis and gave the interpretation with graphical representation. This part also includes horizontal and vertical analysis to portray the financial performance of Benham during the last four years of 2015-2018 as financial analysis is a logical and mathematical way to show the overall financial performance of the company over these years. The last part contains recommendations and a conclusion. In this part, I have discussed some of the problems that I found during the financial analysis and then I gave some recommendation to solve that problem.
