The Present Scenario of English Language Teaching in Bangladeshi Schools

Abstract

The topic of my project paper is “The Present Scenario of English Language Teaching in Bangladeshi Schools” basically English education is not given as much importance as it should get due to which the students of our country are far behind in English education compared to other countries. For English teaching the teacher only does as much as the work has been made mandatory from the board, they do not feel the need to discuss anything outside of it. Therefore, the students of our country cannot adapt to the international competitions with the students of other countries. This is because of the weak education system, inefficient teachers and lack of motivation of the students. English is recognized as an international language. To keep pace with today's fast-growing world, there is no substitute for English education. English is now used for many purposes such as: to communicate in international media, to communicate with foreign people, English is compulsory for higher studies abroad, and students need proper infrastructure to become proficient in English education in our country, countless sources of outside knowledge, such motivators for creating interest in education, making compulsory English clubs in educational institutions, regular discussions with students about the importance of English education, arrangement of English education in an entertaining way, emphasis on English education in primary education etc. If such steps are taken, very soon our students of every level will be able to bring good results in international competitions or in any direction of shaping their future.
