dc.description.abstract The daily Prothom Alo is a daily newspaper published in Bengali language from Bangladesh. It was first published on 4 November 1998. It is currently the second most circulated daily newspaper in Bangladesh. In 2005 Ramon Magsaysay award winning journalist and politician Matiur Rahman is the founding editor of this newspaper. The first slogan that the newspaper adopts as a signal of social movement is Prothom Alo with all that is good. In 2018, the slogan of the 20th anniversary of the establishment was the path to light with good. About 6.6 million readers read Prothom Alo news paper every day (according to 2018 calculations). Prothom Alo is also involved in various social activities in addition to news reporting. This includes prevention of acid terrorism, anti-narcotics movement, etc. As well as reception of brilliant students. Also, this institution plays a supporting role in organizing various Olympiads. There is an organization for the youth called "Bandhusabha" to encourage the youth in social service. Prothom alo won the first place in the 'Best Use of Print' category and second place in the 'Best Idea to Grow Advertising Sales' category in the national brand category of the 'Global Media Awards 2022'. en_US
