dc.description.abstract |
High speed internet connectivity is one of the requirements of every home and every office. Now-a-days every home and office has also the requirement for high regulation cable television (HDTV) and Voice over Internet (VoIP) services. As all this service can be only provided through the help of GPON technology because the GPON technology support the triple play services. Using the Mikrotik router for controlling the layer 3 and GPON OLT for layer 2 management. Using VLAN for providing the different services through the same fiber and same ONU. GPON technology based on ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) technology. As GPON has 2.5 Gbps Upstream and 1.25 Gbps Downstream in each PON and due to ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) technology its support the dynamic bandwidth allocation which is suitable for huge traffic areas. Due to using the GPON the network infrastructure become simplified and flexible. GPON support 128 clients in each PON and the distance support up to 20 km. |
