Abstract:
Blockchain is starting to impact outside the world of digital currency. Even though most
of them have a pilot nature, some applications of it also timidly make an appearance in
education. Nevertheless, the piloting and some high expectations around it have
prompted some inquiries about the nature of the technology, its applications, how it
might be employed in education, and the opportunities, risks, and challenges it entails.
Students self-identify in the present educational systems using various governmentapproved
identity credentials. Additionally, college officials manually verify their prior
degree certificates throughout the admissions process. A lot of time and labor must be put
into this. A blockchain-based system has the potential to be more efficient, secure, and
transparent than the current one. The suggested remedy involves combining biometrics
and blockchain to access all of a student's prior degree certificates. The hash of the
student's biometric information and an original phrase will be submitted. The blockchain
will keep a copy of this hash. The college administration will issue the student's degree
certificate. With its dependability, sturdiness, and performance, the blockchain
infrastructure used by the Bitcoin application has drawn attention. The blockchain is
therefore made available to reach enormous populations. Despite being the technology of
the future, the blockchain has a number of drawbacks that vary depending on the
application. The identity of certificates has become a big problem. I wish to employ the
blockchain approach in the higher education process application was not open to
students.
