Abstract

News media is the mirror of the society. I would like to say specially the print media is the mainstream opportunity to show off a journalist’s capability. Because a newspaper publish the facts in details which is not possible in the electronic media for collapsed timing. The Daily Prothom Alo is one of the leading mainstream newspapers, which has given me the golden opportunity to prove myself. I have always dreamt to help the nation with my work ability. That is why I have chosen Journalism and Mass Communication as my academic arena 4years ago and now I believe that I am able to serve the nation with my communication skill such as reporting. I have chosen the Feature Department of The Daily Prothom Alo as my working area during the internship period because I always want to expand readers’ knowledge through what I know and what I dig out from the working field. Besides, I have chosen the Bengali newspaper instead of English, because I want to improve by practicing my mother language. My decision was not wrong. I have applied my academic techniques and learned a lot of things from the practical field during the internship program. Now I am pretty confident to play with features and soft news in any print medium. Besides, I have covered some events and lots of interviews. I am sure the techniques may help to prepare hard news also. My several writings have been published in the different pages and supplements. With the help of my supervisor at The Daily Prothom Alo, Mr. Zaheed Reza Noor and other Sub-Editors I have learned about my mistakes and got the opportunity to improve my writings.
