Private tutoring has been become a global phenomenon since the last quarter of the twentieth century. It is mostly common in Asia . More and more Bangladeshi teachers decide to round up their income, by teaching private lessons. Although this phenomenon is broadly accepted by Bangladeshi society, the government still considers it ‘illegal’ and fights it by punitive measure .Through this project ‘Teachers involvement in private tutoring in the context of secondary education’ I voluntarily visited these High schools such as from Kazi Abdul Mazed Academy (Pangsha ,Rajbari) , Raynagar Alim Madrasha (Raynagar, Kalukhali) , Moukuri High school (Kalukhali,Pangsha) ,and A. Z. M. Saken Uddin High School (Gotompur,Kalukhali). There are five participants (Teacher) from Kazi Abdul Mazed Academy (Urban area) participate in this project and did the interview, from Rayngar Alim Maddrasha (semi-Rural area)one participant did the interview, from Moukuri High School (semi-Rural ),nine participants did the interview and gives their opinion ,and from A. Z. M Saken Uddin High school (Urban area) four participants
comment upon this project . Most of the teachers from urban area they argue on the behalf of the government’s viewpoints though most of the teachers are involved in private tutoring. On the other hand most of the teacher from Rural area they give their opinion against private tutoring. I also visited Jorge Pilot High School (Pangsha, Rajbari) , Pangsha Girls School (Maguradangi,Pangsha ), Biddapith High School (Moishala,Pangsha) purpose of this project but these are the S.S.C exam center ,so that I unable to get their interviews. Through this research gain the knowledge about clear picture of their experiences in private tutoring , their long years schooling experiences as well as involving private tutoring and also about the social figure of private tutoring. |
